Majali: The addition of new aircraft supports the company’s strategy to promote tourism and strengthen Amman’s position as a key regional hub
Comprehensive upgrade for Boeing 787-8 fleet including onboard Wi-Fi connectivity
Royal Jordanian Airlines continues to implement its strategic plan to fully modernize its fleet and reinforce its position in the air transport industry. The airline has recently inducted a new Airbus A320neo, bringing the total number of new aircraft of this type to 12, in addition to seven new Embraer E2 aircraft.
Royal Jordanian’s fleet is distinguished by its modernity and advanced technologies, with most aircraft being less than one year old. By the end of this year, approximately 70% of the fleet will have been renewed, particularly with the upcoming delivery of two new Airbus A321 aircraft, which makes it one of the most modern fleets in the region and reflects the national carrier’s ongoing commitment to keeping pace with global aviation advancements and providing high-quality services to its passengers across all destinations.
Two of the Airbus A320neo aircraft have been specially equipped with 180 all-economy seats, featuring the newly introduced "Premium Economy” service, positioned between the Economy Class and the Crown (Business) Class. These two aircraft are dedicated to serving key destinations across the network and support the airline’s efforts to attract more tourists to Jordan. This year, Royal Jordanian also added two new Embraer E2 aircraft to serve short-haul routes, bringing the total number of Embraer aircraft in the fleet to seven.
As for the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner fleet, consisting of seven aircraft, Royal Jordanian is carrying out a comprehensive upgrade program that includes the installation of in-flight Wi-Fi connectivity systems, enabling passengers to stay connected throughout their journey. This includes interior cabin refurbishments in line with the airline’s premium service standards, and a new livery to unify the look of all aircraft types across the fleet, Airbus, Boeing, and Embraer.
The first refurbished Boeing 787-8 is scheduled to rejoin the fleet by the end of October 2025, enhancing the overall passenger experience, service quality, and customer satisfaction, while also contributing to higher revenues. Furthermore, Royal Jordanian will induct its first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner in early 2026, as part of its long-haul fleet modernization plan.
Royal Jordanian is also placing strong emphasis on cargo operations as part of its strategy to strengthen Jordan’s position as a key regional logistics and cargo hub. The airline operates a new medium-range A321PF freighter and continues to utilize the belly cargo capacity of its passenger aircraft, alongside the development of the Air Cargo Operations Center at Queen Alia International Airport.

We continue to strengthen Amman’s role as a leading regional transit hub and to enhance Royal Jordanian’s standing as the preferred choice for passengers connecting the Levant region with major cities in the Middle East and Europe.”
Majali added that the airline’s fleet is expected to grow to around 40 aircraft over the coming years, in tandem with the expansion of Royal Jordanian’s route network, which currently serves 55 direct destinations worldwide.
